Today, many churches view membership differently and have various requirements for membership. The information on this page will give you a clear picture of why membership is important at Parkway Hills, what the requirements are and how to become a member.

Why Church Membership

Biblical - Although church membership is never commanded the Scripture, we do believe that it is a Biblical concept.
Commitment - Church membership results in a deeper commitment to a specific local church and the work that God is doing through it.
Spiritual Growth - By placing yourself in the environment where God is working, you are giving God another opportunity to work in and through your life.
A Family - In a culture where we are becoming more and more isolated, being a part of the church family causes one to be more in touch with people. It gives you a sense of belonging and the ability to connect with people on a deeper, more spiritual level. It provides you with the spiritual care group were you can see the fruits of your salvation bloom.

Requirements For Church Membership

Salvation - The most important relationship in anybody's live is their relationship with Christ. The greatest decision anyone can make is to accept Him as your personal Savior. Therefore, the greatest requirement of all is one's personal relationship with Christ. Have you come to know Him as your personal Savior?
Baptism - Baptism is a very special event in the life of the believer as he/she publicly demonstrates his/her desire to follow Christ and be identified with His church. However, in many churches, the method and the timing differ. We practice believers baptism by immersion. In other words, we believe that one is baptized by immersion after he/she professes faith in Christ.

If you are coming from the same tradition as stated above, we do not ask you to be baptized again. If you are coming from a tradition that differs, we do ask that you be baptized.

How To Join

The Invitation - After each Sunday morning worship service, an opportunity is given for you to join Parkway Hills. Fill out the decision card attached to the bulletin and bring it forward to one of the ministers at the front of the aisle. This will communicate to us your desire to be a part of the Parkway Hills family.
Personal Visit - By calling the church offices, you can schedule an appointment with one of the ministers to discuss your desire to join Parkway Hills. These appointments can be made by calling 972-4003-1010 x16.

At Parkway Hills Baptist Church, we believe that becoming a member is a step of commitment. A commitment that identifies the believer with a local body of Christ where the process of Spiritual growth can be enhanced.

The society in which Christ has placed His Church to serve is quickly becoming disconnected. People are becoming isolated at work, in the neighborhood, and, in many cases, at home. The blessing of being a church member is that you have the opportunity to become connected with people who are seeking Christ, striving to build Christ-like relationships with others, and to be used by God in fulfilling the Great Commission.
