Dear Friends,
Friends
- your prayers continue to carry us through.
Lauren is doing well and loving Baylor
University. She continues in physical therapy,
still cannot feel her foot, but walks only with
a slight limp. She is in braces (again) and
will need further surgery on her jaw/mouth, but
she smiles on ever bright! She is our reminder
that life is good and God is ever in control.
This Christmas, I am going to love being
together with Lauren, Brett and Brad and will
never take it for granted! Please know that
your prayers have meant the world to us and we
are grateful for the friendships we know and the
people we have met who have prayed for us. For
those of you who we have not met - if not
in this lifetime, we'll catch you on the other
side! May God be praised and continue to be
glorified for allowing us to see Him work a
miracle. FYI: Steve Blow will again
mention Lauren in his Dallas Morning News
column on Friday, December 20.
Psalm 145: 2-3
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise
His greatness no one can fathom.
One generation will commend your works to
another
They will tell of your mighty acts.
‘Twas A Year To Remember
Written by Vicki Billman
‘Twas the month of December and here in our
house,
We’re giving great thanks for what’s come about.
Our Lauren’s at Baylor enjoying it so
And Brett’s loving high school—always on the go.
Brad’s still the flier—he goes where he must.
And me, I’m just here to vacuum and dust!
(along with sell houses—it rhymes,anyway)
Much sorrow and sadness have happened our way.
But God’s been our strength we thankfully say.
It happened in April—a nightmare ensued;
A horrible accident of great magnitude.
The throttle got stuck and sent Lauren flying
She answered our phone call screaming and
crying.
Then out of control and into a wall
Of concrete, and flipping—all watchers appalled.
Our sweet precious Lauren—17—lay near death.
We prayed “Oh God, please” with every breath.
Her body was mangled but her will was strong.
Paramedics came and an angel—the rescue was
long.
Her body was placed on the Care Flight and then
The real fight began—but Lauren would win.
Weeks of very grave moments surrounded us, yes
22 Days, ICU, God’s peace gave us rest.
The news was far reaching about this sweet girl
Who trusted her Lord—her courage unfurled.
Through wheelchairs and crutches, surgery and
pain,
Nineteen broken bones—what seemed loss was a
gain.
For God received glory and thousands could see
That we are just human—the Savior is He.
Lauren’s at college now, therapy, scars.
But to God she is perfect, her story’s reached
far.
For others have given their lives to the Lord
Because they saw Lauren let her life be poured…
Into the palm of what God has planned,
And we’ve all been molded by His mighty hand.
How well we now know that our lives could be
gone
By this very evening or after the dawn.
At peace with His purpose and trusting His plan,
His ways are a mystery to us ~ common man.
Your prayers have been mighty—we’ve felt well
your love
And I know when I see the Christmas dove…
That real peace is ours for our everyday fears
And God’s plan never will waste any tears.
Dear friends, we pray that this Christmas will
be
The best celebration—God’s salvation received.
Much love from the Billman family—Brad, Vicki,
Lauren & Brett
~Psalm25:1—To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in
you I trust, O my God.~
